YOUR
NEW YEAR'S
EVE GUIDE
TO CHOOSING THE RIGHT PARTY FOR YOU &
YOUR FRIENDS
Tip #1
OPEN BAR ON NYE : THINK TWICE
MYTH BUSTER: The Reality of the "Open Bar"
New Year's Eve Event
Please
do not be mislead
by the misperceived
value of New Year's Eve events offering an "open bar" ticket. It's
neither the "financial savings" you think you are getting or does it
ensure a much more pleasant experience for you and your friends.
IT ACTUALLY IS QUITE THE OPPOSITE.
"Open Bar" New Year's Eve events
result in people 'overdrinking', which always results in sloppiness,
fights, arguments (even amongst friends & loved ones), accidents, drunk
driving, barf everywhere, and just not a "sexy" or "sophisticated" night
by any means. Add a '1000-1500+person-mass-marketed' event to the
mix, and you got yourself the perfect recipe for "ONE HOT MESS".
Many people think they are getting
a great deal with an "open bar" ticket. In order for someone to be
'saving money' by buying an "open bar" ticket over paying for their
drinks at the bar, they would need to drink at least 6 premium liquor
cocktails or more. Most women would have to be carried out of a
party if they drank 6 vodka redbulls in one night! Even worse,
many "open bar" New Year's Eve events do not offer premium liquor
cocktails such as Red Bull or Belvedere, they are only offering cheap
"well" drink vodka brands. In that case, someone would need to
drink 8 cocktails to justify they got their money's worth with an "open
bar" ticket. So, the majority of people are actually "OVERPAYING"
when they buy an "open bar" ticket!
Another financial factor for many
women who are on a "tight budget" and/or don't need to pay for their own
drinks, is many women have gentlemen friends who will 'chivalrously' pay
for their drinks at the bar and/or have gentlemen friends who will pour
them complimentary champagne or complimentary cocktails at their
gentlemen friends' VIP Tables. An
"open bar" ticket FORCES female guests to pay for their own
alcohol consumption in advance without the flexibility of a gentlemen
friend paying for it instead.
NOW YOU KNOW THE TRUTH.
New Year's Eve @ The 1874 United
States Old Mint Building is 'strategically' chosen to not offer an "open
bar" format to avoid all the horrible problems listed above associated
with an "open bar" event and to ensure New Year's Eve @ The Old Mint is
"the classiest", "most elegant", "most sophisticated" crowd and
experience of the city. Most importantly, we have strategically
chosen to not do an "open bar" format because we "care" about the safety
of our guests and taking a stand to be the most 'safe' and 'responsible'
New Year's Eve event of the city.
We wish you all a very amazing and
very "safe" New Year's and hope you and your friends have a new educated
"perspective" on what is important to you and what is 'actually' the
best bang for your buck when choosing your New Year's Eve experience.
Respectfully,
DONOVAN
